About Speleogenesis.info Network
Speleogenesis.info Network is the result of the evolution of the Speleogenesis.info site, which started in the early 2003 as an open-access scientific journal (Speleogenesis and Evolution of Karst Aquifers) but gradually evolved into a platform for collaborative efforts of the international cave and karst community to promote information exchange in the field of karstology and geospeleology.
It became obvious at some point that we need to separate the journal and the growing number of services and functions supporting information and collaboration. So, within the major site reconstruction performed during the first half of 2006 Speleogenesis.info has been split into two sections:
the Journal "Speleogenesis and Evolution of Karst Aquifers":
http://www.journal.speleogenesis.info/
and
this site, dedicated to promote information exchange and collaborative activities of the karst and geospeleology science Community http://www.network.speleogenesis.info/
Both the Journal and the Network sites are coordinated by the Commission of Karst Hydrogeology and Speleogenesis of the Union International of Speleology (UIS), in close collaboration with other major cave and karst related international bodies.
The site is administered and run by the Speleogenesis Team:
Dr. Alexander Klimchouk, Simferopol, Ukraine (the Journal Editor-in-Chief and the content manager) klim@speleogenesis.info
and
Mag. Aleksey Koptchinskiy,Wien, Austria (web-master: design and technical developments) akop@mail.zserv.tuwien.ac.at
The site is sponsored by:
- Union International of Speleology (UIS),
- Ukrainian Institute of Speleology and Karstology,
- National Cave and Karst Research Institute (U.S.A.)
We'll be grateful for your comments, ideas and suggestions: Welcome to the Speleogenesis Forum!
